Gold Ingot Project 14713 Mark Rogers GIMP
GIMP
I am doing my gold INGOT course on GIMP, an image manipulation programme.

For my unit 3 i plan to make a presentaion on Power Point to explain some of the features of this programme, I mightexplain how to resize images, remove red eye, choose colours, copy/paste, draw on images, select areas and add text. I feel that these features are some of the most important and will help someone to know the basics of GIMP so they can then move on and further devlope their knowlage of the programme.
This is a print screen of my title page for my presentation.
I have completed my presentation on a brief outline of the basic features of GIMP, i explained how to download GIMP form the internet, i explained the dialogue boxes that appear on startup, and explination of the tool box and the tool in it, how to create a new image, how to crop a picture and how to select an area using the free-select tool.
Here is my presentation, it is also available to download as PDF document.
This is my intorduction page for my presentation.
This is the first instruction page of my presentation tell you how to download GIMP from the internet.
This slide describes the layout of GIMP when you first open the programme.
This slide now explains what the tools and the different tool bars do to let you know the basic functions for you to play around with.
Now this is the slide to tell you how to change the colour and select different one so that you can paint and fill etc.
Here I tell you how to create but a new image to what ever size you want to work with or need. It gives your specific measurements for your workplane.
In this slide I tell you how to crop your images to cut out the parts you dont want and to refine your images.
This is a very useful tool I describe in this slide, it is the free selection tool. With this you can select certain parts of you image cut them out etc. Just play around. It can be very useful.
That is all my presentation, I hope it has been of use to you.
Remember it is available for download at the bottom of this page if you would like to.
ITS FREE!!
Also, here is a link to my Gold unit 1 blog, it contains interesting information about a lot of ICT terms and different topics in ICT. It can tell you about copy right, open systems, open source, ISO standards, ANSI, source coding, the data protection act and a lot more useful and insightful information.

Hi,
Couple of things to do with your presentation. Use fewer fonts. Best to use say Heading 2 style for main titles and Heading 3 for side titles. That will make your work look more consistent. Try spell checking your on-line work. Firefox has a built in spellcheck so if you disable rich text at the bottom of the edit window mis-spelt words will be underlined in red (just ignore the HTML tags like <strong> <br> <p> etc). Alternatively you could cut and paste the text from your web page into a word processor with a spellcheck then correct words on your web page that get picked up.
Finally, why make a pdf file you have to upload with your presentation? Why not just create web pages and put the information into them directly and make links between them? Just use simple clear styles, it will look better. Doing things that way means your work will get indexed by Google for searches, is more immediately available without having to download a whole pdf file first and you can make links to and from it from othr information later. Only attach files if there is a really good reason not to put the information directly into the web page.
Keep up the good work, hope this advice is helpful, tell your friends as it will help them improve their work too.
